About our founder
Investigation.
Experimentation.
Invitation.

Wild-Lake was founded by Argelys Samuel Oriach to scout talent, develop creative work, and build structures that support an artist’s independence.
Argelys is an actor, writer, and systems architect based in Brooklyn, New York. He is the principal at Seven Eighty Three (783), for which Wild-Lake serves as the foundational studio and research site.
The person and the work.
Argelys got his start producing live shows and events as a member of Wesleyan’s historic Eclectic House. From booking acts and sourcing production gear to managing artist hospitality, he spent years designing high-voltage physical gatherings from the ground up. That early hands-on work building autonomous cultural spaces forms the backbone of Wild Lake’s approach to talent architecture today.
His practice moves between first-principles investigation and lived experimentation: studying the material, testing ideas, listening to what emerges, and revising with the artist. Guidance begins with an invitation and develops through sustained attention to the person and the work.
That includes developing the artwork itself—a song, a play, a pilot, a novel, or an emerging body of work. Through the Talent Architect practice, scouting and A&R sit alongside mentorship and system design. The structures exist to support the creator and the creative material.
His own creative practice spans acting for stage and screen, playwriting, and literary fiction. He is the author of This Is Not a Love Story and is writing a play and his debut autofiction novel, Graduation. Explore his creative profile ↗
Sovereign A&R.
For Wild-Lake, sovereignty means that the artist keeps ownership, creative control, and the right to choose their direction. We develop the work and build the infrastructure around it without taking a percentage of the artist’s success.
Argelys’s background in brand marketing, audience development, and systems design informs this approach. We investigate the central questions, test ideas in practice, and use what we learn to shape the next iteration. We work on an agreed retainer, with scope and fees discussed together.
Spirit and engineering.
The Universe API is Argelys’s macro-systems design framework. It brings together first-principles engineering, sovereign logic, closed-loop systems, and growth that compounds rather than extracts.
At Wild-Lake, that becomes a practical cycle: make, share, listen, revise. We begin with the artist’s existing material and resources, then build structures that can hold the work as it develops. Sharing is part of understanding the work, through ourselves and through others.
A personal framework.
Argelys describes his Human Design profile as a 1/3 Emotional Projector. He uses this as a personal framework for reflecting on investigation, experimentation, emotional clarity, and invitation.
- Investigation
- Understanding the foundations before proposing a structure. Asking what is present, what matters, and what the work needs.
- Experimentation
- Learning through making and lived experience. Letting what happens in practice inform the next decision.
- Emotional clarity
- Allowing time to understand a response rather than treating urgency as direction.
- Invitation
- Entering a creative relationship by mutual recognition and consent. Guidance is offered within a relationship the artist chooses.
The invitation.
We are here for creators who want sustained attention to their work and the systems around it. Begin with the material, a question, or a conversation about what you need.
